Sunbonnet Sue

Mek Sue

i have never imagined that i will do any 'applique' and further more will do it with 'sunbonnet sue' (just heard this name about last month?). i like to see this little girl 'sunbonnet sue' but always told myself that i would never had time to do it [it looks soooo difficult to do].

however, when zila kassim (www.zilakassim.com)- admin of 1day1product group initiated a competition of making this sunbonnet sue, i gave myself a try.. (reluctantly at the beginning).

as we are all malays, we called this little girl Mek Sue..heheh (pepandai zila tukarkan nama)

templates

1st stage was printing the template.. my printer didn't want to cooperate at that time, so i had to trace the picture from the computer skrin...

i had to make a few tracing until i got the correct size (A4 size).. so this meksue has siblings...:)

complete before touch up

i cut the fabrics yesterday morning (30th may) and started my applique straight away... no batting... no interfacing... just sewed the fabrics to the background. (chasing by due date given by zila - 31st may). and... by evening i completed this meksue... *happy* 

mother-daughter project

while i was sewing, i gave my daughter the extra template to be coloured so that she didn't really bother me... heheh..

at last... 

this is how my meksue looks like after the touch up... i am happy with the end product and i think there will be more meksue coming to my house... (but donno when...*wink*)

since this is my 1st sunbonnet sue, i'm a bit over excited with it. taking photos tahap tak hengat... hahaha...(seriously...macam org baru beranak sulung...)

Raya? Tetiba lak cerita pasal raya ni.... (sebab cerita pasal raya, automatically mode tukar jadi melayu) *sengih*....


i dengar akhir bulan mei ni dah ramai tailor tutup tempahan utk baju raya... huhuhu.... ramai juga dengarnya yg meraung2 (uishh... rasa cam pelik lak guna word ni.... tapi nak guna jugak..) sebab belum beli kain tapi dah tak boleh tempah... boleh gitu????


ini la sebab tetiba saya i bukak cerita pasal raya... tapi raya tahun lepas la.. sbb yg tahun ni belum lepas lagi.. ;)


aci tengok gambar kat atas tu... tahun lepas, i tetiba rasa nak jahit baju kurung utk i dan anak2... (baju melayu tak penah pass...so tak leh nak wat). kitorang shopping kain (ngn cik nana - my sis) and plan nak wat tema purple la.... and tadaaaa..

3 serangkai

kami 3 org memang sedondon... tapi bila sampai part abah tu... carik baju melayu siap je... jadik nya payah la sikit nak  mix & match... jadi last2 dia beli baju warna biru... sebab nak match, kita bagi dia sampin purple... so akhirnya jadik la jugak 'raya sedondon' kami... like this:

raya tahun lepas kat kelantan...*cik abe oghe kelate*... the children were so happy because over there we have 1 big family.... a lot of cousins... (waah... 3 bahasa dlm satu ayat nii..) *emm..kenapa tetiba switch language lak ni?*

ini la keluarga besar kami...

kami baru lepas ziarah kubur di pagi raya... so 'excuse' for this picture... but seriously it was the nicest shot, with the light and the green... it was just perfect... ini pun ada jugak yg tak masuk gambar... termasuk la hubby ku (sebab dia yg amik gambar ni) huhuhu...

the best part is... aci tgk warna baju diorang semua.... semua sedondon ngn hubby ku...huhuhu... kami ank beranak 3 org je yang sedondon purple... lalala... tapi i tak kisah sebab baju2 kami, i yang jahit....*sengih lagi*

jadi... kesimpulannya, raya tahun ni 2011, i nak jahit baju utk kami anak beranak lagi...sonoknya..... *sengih sampai telinga*

Teacher's Day

Selamat Hari Guru

16th may... Teacher's Day...

Usually i like to give handmade items to somebody.... it makes that thing more personal...

since i have no time to sew something for my daughters' teachers... (or should i say i'm still in the *jiwa kacau mode*), i decided to go for craft..

these shells were collected when we went back to sekinchan... my hometown. (and yess... sekinchan has beach... if u don't know... which u can watch the sun sets...owghh.... beautiful.  u can see it at my album in my fb). or maybe i can post some of the pictures of sunset in sekinchan here in my blog... heheh *got some ideas what to be posted in my blog...yeay!!*

and i hope all the teachers that received the gifts would be as happy as i am.... :)
