Red Roses Dress for Ariana

this dress was supposed to be najwa's....but at that time i was losing my passion towards sewing....it had been kept nicely after i cut the cloth...

then ariana's birthday approached and i asked najwa was it all right for me to give make that dress for ariana... and she was fine with it (did she have any other choice? haha...)

this time around, the idea of scrunchy did not turn up yet...so no scrunchy for this dress... but i did scrunchy recently using the stash and passed it to ariana already...:-), but (again)...i forgot to take the photo of the scrunchy...huhu..

my friend, linda karlina likes to see my sewing work and would like me to sew a dress for her little angel hannah...

she chose this pink butterfly from my collection and now the butterflies are flying around...:)  thanks ling...

this time around, i remembered to look up and see what's that shop's name - the one that i always send to sew the button holes...kedai alat2 jahitan and kraftangan JELITA...heheh...so bad ah? came here for sooo many times, didn't even know the name? but now i promote for the shop...

1st draft

at 1st, i wanted to put the small yellow ribbon in the middle. asked opinion from my husband, but he said this one looks like a flag... haishh...spoilt betul...

2nd draft

this time, i played around with buttons... yellow would be nice to bring out the effect.... hmmm...this one approved by husband, but i didn't make any decision yet, so....

i reduced the buttons to 5....and wallah..i like it...:)

husband also agreed and preferred this one...so this is the final look...

Orange Floral Dress for Nazneen

this one is for my niece, nazneen (i suka call dia naneen) who turned 2 on 18 jan 2011. (apa la aunty ni...asyik belated je....) it's ok, better late than never...;-)

i posted the photos to my facebook. Thank goodness that nazneen and her mum (cik noni) like it...uncle mie dah tak sabar nak dtg amik....haha...dia tak tau baju ni tak siap lagi..

this time around i would like to add something on that plain ribbon...that rose was supposed to be a hairband to match with the dress. 

but then i played around with it, try to put it in the middle like this:

did anybody notice a tiny little needle there? not completed yet...no button and no button hole...hihi [nasib baik i tak amik gambar kt dalam kain tu...tak jahit tepi lagi..nanti nak balik umah mak, nak jahit kat sana...jauh tu gi jahit tepi...]

scrunchy

i made the scrunchy this morning for about 15-20 minutes only. very easy and very fast...[so that i can upload today...;-)]

i am glad that finally it has been done and that means i can proceed to another project... hmmm...who's next?

Blue Roses Dress for Lauren

Last week on 27th January was my friend, sophia's daughter's birthday (hi lauren). this time around i tried to give some personal touch on my gift. since i've got the mood to continue and polish my sewing skills again (after i left it about 5 years ago), i decided to sew her a dress.

this cloth has been with me for quite sometime already...i bought it for my daughters (that time i still rajin menjahit for my daughters). i like the pattern, i like roses, i like the materials...it just that, at one point i didn't feel like sewing anymore...so it hid in my closet for a loooooong time..

I got to go to this one shop (at kota damansara- sori lupa nama kedai) to sew the button hole since my skill on this particular thing is not nice  recommendable at all..hehe..

My first handmade dress with my own label....(haha so proud of my self) [isyk.. tak baik bangga terhadap diri sendiri ni...ok..ok..tarik balik]. i got this label from kucinpurple.blogspot.com. sanggup pegi carik umah dia kat mana... semata-mata nak dapat cepat. ye la, kalau tunggu pos, esok lusa belum tentu dapat...nak kejar dateline ni...haha cam bagus je...

I started cutting the cloth on monday...and finished the whole thing on thursday night. not bad at all ek? usually i take longer than that...but i think this time i really chased the dateline. her birthday was on thursday, but on friday i still did not deliver to her yet. i brought the dress to school to show to my friend (show off la pulak)...to ask her opinion whether it is all right to be given as a present. she agreed and planned to ask me to sew a dress for her daughter...(yeay!!..my first customer).

i still have some remnant from that cloth so i decided to make a scrunchy to match with the dress. As scrunchies will be my next project....so this consider as my testing skill with scrunchies.  hihi...suka sangat..(apa yang suka sangat tah)
so, on saturday afternoon, i delivered this dress to lauren (belated pun tak pe, kan?) I hope she likes it and according to sophia (her mum)- she told me through facebook, lauren loves the dress and plan to wear it during Chinese New Year...owghh....so terharu touching to hear...birthday cum CNY presie....
